We’re incredibly proud to be 100% Australian owned and operated. Each of our recipes are made, packed and even taste tasted with love in our human-grade Aussie kitchens, with quality, taste and nutrition at the forefront of everything we do.

Brought to life by our founder Anna Podolsky and co-founder Dr. Matthew Muir, a renowned Australian integrative vet, Lyka Pet Food was the result of Anna’s journey with her pup’s health, a Border Collie cross named – yep, you guessed it – Lyka!

From the start, the brand was built on heart, with a desire to create delicious meals for your pupper that were complete and balanced for every life stage. At age of 4 or 5, Lyka began experiencing extremely itchy skin, to the point where she was developing bald patches and scarring from the constant intense scratching. Her vet had even told Anna that Lyka had bad tooth decay and would be needing some extractions. Confused and fed up, Anna set about trying to work out why her best friend was suffering so badly when she was consuming a premium commercial pet food diet and enjoying exercise three times a day, along with frequent trips to the vet. None of it made sense. It was then that Anna started researching the benefits of a fresh food diet. Lyka is now 11 years old, but is often mistaken for a puppy because of her happy, playful nature and super shiny coat. The results spoke for themselves and Anna knew she had to share them and give Australians the chance to reap the benefits of a happy, healthy pupper.

Redefining Australian Dog Food

This is why we are on a mission to redefine dog food in Australia. We care about where our ingredients come from, always sourcing locally and sustainably where possible. We are proud to say that 85-95% of each recipe is made using Australian ingredients, with 100% of our meats sourced via Australian farmers.
